Our Team

Hello, my name is Jeremy Fox.

I earned a Bachelor of Information Technology from the University of Newcastle in 2012 at the age of 18, followed by an Associate Degree in Theology from Moore Theological College in 2022. Currently, I am pursuing a Master's in Digital Humanities and Public Culture at the Australian National University. I have a decade of experience in technology, service in various ministry settings, and grown up in the social media "maelstrom" and lamented the communal, joyous, simple something that's been lost from life in our new digital world (A Time We Never Knew, Freya India, 2024). Over the past decade and a bit, I've been plotting and praying about how to make technology a tool for spiritual growth rather than a source of spiritual struggle. Kaloxys is my contribution. Kaloxys aims to be a collaborative digital repository of Christian wisdom, specifically tailored to address the challenges of living in a technologically advanced society. It seeks to provide practical advice from a Christian perspective, helping individuals navigate modern life with faith.

Several others are contributing behind the scenes. Every piece of feedback helps us refine this service. I extend a sincere thank you to all who have supported us thus far.

Why Kaloxys?

The pace of technological change has surpassed anyone's capacity to develop enough wisdom to handle it.

Andy Crouch, The Tech-Wise Family (2017, p.17)

Kaloxys exists to democratise the best Biblically-based wisdom for Christians living in our internet-connected world.

Wisdom (n.) 1.a. "Capacity of judging rightly in matters relating to life and conduct; soundness of judgement in the choice of means and ends; sometimes, less strictly, sound sense, esp. in practical affairs: opposed to folly."

Oxford English Dictionary. (2023). Wisdom (n.), sense 1.a. https://doi.org/10.1093/OED/6452400914

We know that technology, socials and other online tools can be stressful and difficult to use, are often designed to take advantage of our psychology, and often bring out the worst of us. Life is too short to make all the mistakes and learn the hard way all the time! We hope to make everyone’s life easier by centralising the best helpful Bible-based practical wisdom for living in our fast-paced uncertain digital world on this quick reference wiki.

We rely on prayer that God will make this resource trustworthy and helpful, collective intelligence to keep it relevant, group funding to keep it operational, and volunteers to share it. The Kaloxys wiki will remain free. This resource is produced with Christian convictions as defined by the Nicene Creed. What we believe

We believe that the Bible is God's Word. Without it, we're just guessing about what it means to be human and why our world exists. If you don’t yet believe, you may think this very odd and outdated. We encourage you to read and seriously consider the claims of the Bible. The Bible stands up against the most stringent critical arguments and addresses human existential troubles in a way that shows it has the divine insight and authority of our Creator.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

John 3:16-17

The gospel says that we are sinners, broken people who need forgiveness and restoration that can only come through faith in God's Son, Jesus Christ. When we believe, we become children of God (John 1:9-13) and saints (1 Cor. 1:2, 6:11). Belief does not take away the difficulties of living in a broken world reeling from the consequences of sin, but it gives us the hope of eternal life, the power of prayer - talking with God as our perfect loving Father, supernatural peace that comes with knowing we're forgiven, and strength that comes from dwelling on the inexhaustible riches of God’s word. That being said, we hope this wiki helps with some of the difficulties of living in our world!
